Past Events

Data & AI Stockholm at Developers Bay
Data & AI Stockholm joined forces with Developers Bay at United Spaces Waterfront for an evening on data governance — or, as John put it, the most underrated skill in AI. The room reflected it: a genuine mix of backgrounds, industries, and experience levels, with familiar faces and many new ones. One speaker, one topic, and by the end of the evening, no shortage of opinions about both.

Data & AI Stockholm at Lovable
Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting an incredible Data & AI Stockholm hackathon in collaboration with Lovable. We kicked off the event with a special introduction from Whitney Menarcheck, Community Manager at Lovable, who shared a few inspiring words about her role, the Lovable community, and the vision behind the platform before officially launching the hackathon.

Data & AI Stockholm at Proxify
AI systems are no longer just responding. They are planning, acting, and operating in environments where the cost of getting it wrong is real. Last week, Data & AI Stockholm brought the community together for an evening at Proxify around exactly this question: what does it actually take to build these systems, not in demos, but in practice? We are grateful to Proxify for hosting us. The venue carried that distinctive Stockholm character, older architectural details paired with a warm, modern interior, and the whole team made the evening feel genuinely welcoming. As always, much of the value happened between and after the talks, in the conversations that do not make it into any agenda.

Data & AI Stockholm at Theodora Tech
Last week, DAIS hosted an inspiring and intimate evening together with Theodora Tech, bringing together the Stockholm data community to explore what it truly takes to connect code, culture, and collaboration in modern data organizations.

Data & AI Stockholm at Lovable
On March 11, we gathered at Lovable HQ in Stockholm for an evening focused on one of the most important shifts happening in our space right now: how data foundations are evolving to support real, production-ready AI systems.

Data & AI Stockholm at Apache Flink & King
Our latest gathering wasn't just a meetup — it was a full day of learning, building, and deep discussion. We started with a hands-on Apache Flink workshop, then hosted an evening meetup with Apache Flink and King on streaming at scale, diving into real-world systems processing billions of events per day.

Data & AI Stockholm at Google
On Tuesday, we partnered together with our sister community, AI Engineering In Stockholm to explore something that's already reshaping how data platforms are built at Google.

Winning Swedish Tech Jobs: CV & Interview Tips
On Friday, we hosted an online session with Data & AI Stockholm on a topic that cuts across roles, seniority levels, and career stages: How to stand out and succeed in the Swedish tech job market, with CV and interview advice that is actually useful in practice. It was great to see so many people join the conversation and bring thoughtful, honest questions.

Data & AI Stockholm at Volvo
We wrapped up our final Data & AI Stockholm event of the year with a fantastic digital session led by Mehrdad Mamaghani, Head of Data Science at Volvo Group. Mehrdad shared a strategic perspective on building Data & AI capabilities inside a complex global organisation, covering foundations for successful AI adoption and the leadership mindset required to deliver real value.

Data & AI Stockholm at Nextory
What It Really Takes to Bring an Agentic System to Production — On Tuesday evening last week, nearly 60 people stepped into Nextory's HQ, for our November Data & AI Stockholm meetup. Coats piled up near the entrance, slices of pizza disappeared quickly from the kitchen counter, and strangers found themselves in unexpectedly deep conversations before the event even began. It was the kind of atmosphere that happens when people show up not out of obligation, but out of genuine curiosity.

October DAIS Fest
What a night! Last Friday, we gathered for October DAIS Fest—a relaxed evening of great conversations, laughter, and connection within the Data & AI Stockholm community. It was amazing to see new and familiar faces come together to share ideas and build meaningful collaborations…

Data & AI Stockholm at Spotify
Another fantastic Data & AI Stockholm meetup, hosted by Spotify! With 230 interested attendees, we kept it intimate with ~40 participants. The event featured an insightful presentation, Q&A, and engaging group discussions, followed by networking over drinks. A huge thank you to Erisa Dervishi and Annica Ivert for their presentation, and to Spotify for hosting us.

Data & AI Stockholm at Voyado
Yesterday, we hosted our second Data & AI Stockholm meetup at Voyado! A huge thank you to Etienne Thessman, Product Director at Voyado, for his powerful presentation on building AI and analytics products that truly matter. Rich discussions on the evolving role of Data Engineers in product teams, designing flexible data storage solutions, and navigating ethics and stability in machine learning.

Kickoff Meetup: Connect Over Data & AI!
Even though the weather didn't cooperate on Friday, our Data & AI Stockholm community still made the most of it! Instead of our planned picnic, we gathered at a cosy bar and had a great evening connecting, sharing ideas, and talking data...
